At first it's just the conduit to allow you to continue playing music or sport.
Next it becomes, not about the fans, its the revenue generators dummy. In music A&R were dictating what bands to back and market, whereas football has changed to be all about moving casino chips around the table. These players allegedly worth millions remind me of how bands like King or Kajqgoogoo made it so big for a moment. How many players have been ascribed values during the post Ferguson era at Man Utd. Most noticeably during the last 6 years when ridiculous sums were paid for players who clearly were shit. Anthony has found his level. He has a left foot the equivalent of Messi's right. He is better at running not the control, composure and the cost suggested he was mispriced despite being half the age. He's found his level now, like many others and nobody got sacked for signing him or the others.
Arghhhh when will they learn. Never.
When will we learn, sooner I hope.
When the Hibs owner recently went into a bar in Gent and bought everyone drink did the European fair play rules apply. Was this bribing supporters or just a good thing.
One thing for Abu Dhabi to invite 100,000 Mancs over for a good bevvy and another to carry over their laundry to that glorious city.
How much do we really want their money. The level of corruption in all these gangsters from Trump to the rest should make all supporters do a double take. Grumbling golfers in Scotland have bemoaned all the money from the states inflating green fees which to be fair at least stays within the clubs and helps them afford more greenkeepers, new clubhouses and is all spent locally, except in the owner owned courses.
Owner owned golf courses are starting to become part of the global asserts play that make Billionaires think they can cross the Atlantic, wander into Europe and plunge some of our greatest sporting heritages. The previous owners have largely taken the cash and run. The one exception in modern times was Fergus McCann at Celtic. He told everyone he wanted a certain return and would return it to the fans if they wanted to buy it after 5 years.
The new owners don't quote get that sentiment.
Manchester United like City have been dragged into a debate they probably hoped to avoid by being so shit. They're doubtless gonna take legal action as Mourinho suggested they should back when he performed miracles coming in second. Stones, glasshouses and watch in fun as the crowded market place clamours for confusion.
Fair play but watch the dominoes fall now.
