I'm a drinker in the TSB ( thistle street bar) in Edinburgh nowadays but back in the 80's and in particular 1982 to 1983 much of Deadbeat was written here.
I was the "luckiest citizen of all" as the Happy Family once sang. I even wrote a review of Tony Benn's Caird Hall speech here - a song for Europe - I called it - to be fair Brian sold the perfect Guinness and the Irish influence was all over the review. I digress the tayside bar has a new web admirer - Gordon "retro Dundee" Gurvan has built a fantastic website dedicated solely to the TSB - a proper social historian - thanks Gordon and enjoy everyone
