Raymond &The Deadbeats Cartoon

Issue 10 heralded the arrival of The Deadbeats a fictitious band based on a number of recognisable faces in Dundee around 1983 - Oor Wullie didn't have a look in as our hero Raymond ruminated on relationships. It was rumoured that DC Thomson were trying to buy the series but Hilary the artist wouldn't sell.
The meglomaniacal tendencies were never far below the surface, hmmn, there were a few of them in the Spring of 1983 as issue 11 brought luke atme's character to the fore.
Raymond gets technical in issue 12 when he starts tuning up, normally the first thing that gets you emptied from the band

Issue 13 and Roy Terre interviews the band

By the summer of 1983 issue 15 brought the Great Rock'n'Roll Balls up, some say he'd been responsible for punk but others claimed it was Defunkt Rock that put McClart on the map - luke atme could take no more -
